We decided to post in this section pictures from our earlier yard haunt displays. After viewing these older pictures and then comparing them to the more recent years you can see how the Halloween yard display has grown and evolved over the years.  The idea to make a web site to share our Halloween  pictures didn't happen until around 2000 (no Photobucket or Flickr back then) so extensively photographing the display wasn't a priority at the time. Consumer level digital cameras were in their infancy when we started out so the earlier film pictures were a bit better than the first digitally photographed ones. Future improvements in digital cameras helped to better capture the display's nighttime look since then.

1998 - We decided to do a few a few jack-o-lanterns and put up a few decorations.  We got so many positive comments that we started thinking about doing a full blown "yard haunt display" for 1999. Pictures were taken with a point and shoot film camera.

1999 - This was our first attempt at an "elaborate" yard haunt display using simple props. We later decided the look was too "cutesy" and needed to improve the "scare" factor. Pictures were taken with a point and shoot film camera.

2000 - This was the first year with our cemetery headstones from "Haunted Headstones". The yard haunt is starting to take shape. Pictures taken with one of the earliest Olympus digital cameras (not very good for low light photos).
